We would like to
invite you to participate in the 16th annual Fort Rowdy Gathering
Encampment on October 4-5, 2008. Come  enjoy
the splendid wooded banks of the Stillwater
River and our 209 ft. long
portable footbridge that connects the pre-1840’s encampment to Covington Community Park.
Encampment
activities include; hawk & knife, spear throw, bow shoot, canoe race lizard
pull, flint & steel, cooking contest and rolling pin & skillet toss
along with games and contests for children. Prizes will be awarded at
council fire. A Sunday morning worship service, lead by Scott McMiller,
will be held at the encampment stage.
As always,
entertainment will abound. The old time camp favorite, the Ramblin’
Rovers, will be playing on the camp stage.
Please support
the Fort Rowdy Auction. Funds from the auction support the Gathering.
Modern or primitive, new or used items are welcome. All donations are
greatly appreciated. The auction will be held at the camp stage on
Saturday. Come have fun and bid on a want or need.
Camps may be set
up on Wednesday October 1, 2008. Tear down must be completed no later than
Wednesday October 8, 2008.
